Review Passion by Lisa Valdez

PASSION
by Lisa Valdez
ISBN: 0425203972
Publisher: Berkley (July 5, 2005)

A woman called Passion. A man who would make her true to her name.
In her second year of mourning, lovely young widow Passion Elizabeth Dare never dreamed she would be with a man again--and certainly not a complete stranger. But amidst the crowds of London's Crystal Palace, Passion finds herself discreetly, yet insistently, pursued by a sensual gentleman who awakens her long-supressed desires. After a loveless marriage of restrained propriety, Passion abandons herself to true bliss for the first time.
Intoxicated by his encounter with the beautiful stranger, Mark Randolph Hawkmore, Earl of Langley, cannot wait to see her again. As a series of rapturous rendezvous follows, he and his mystery lover find something rare and wonderful blossoming between them. But a blackmail scheme against the Earl threatens to destroy everything. As a scandal brews, each will have to choose between duty and desire...their love for their families--and their love for each other.

What a beautiful book! Hot and steamy and I also shed some tears.
I just loved Mark's and Passion's story. It was my first Lisa Valdez book and the hot erotic scenes often made me blush till behind my ears while reading. I couldn't put the book away, had to keep reading!
Great read!

This is the first book of J.A. Saare that I read.
I liked her style of writing, it’s easy reading. The only thing that I didn’t like so much, was that the book ended too soon!  ;-)  I would’ve liked to read more about Emma and Caleb.

Okay, this is my first review and I know there must be a lot for me to learn to improve reviews in the future. Please feel free to give me feedback, but be gentle… LOL

The Blurb

Find out how it all began...

During the bite of the Great Depression, sole female dominant Joan Fuller struggles against the rise of cruelty among her alpha counterparts. The men tolerate her interference--until she breaks from the pack and allies with a witch and a vampire. Now the Boston alpha intends to bring them all forcibly back into the fold--and teach her a lesson she may not survive.

Seamus Whelan and his werewolf bootleggers intend to retire from smuggling and savor their fortune, but first they must do a favor for an old friend: escort some female wolves to safety. An easy job, if their leader wasn't a prim ex-debutante with enough power to challenge Seamus himself. Chance makes them allies; powerful need makes them lovers.

Together, they have the opportunity to build a sanctuary for their kind, but first they must free themselves from Joan's past, and the powerful man who would see her destroyed.
